This is a rough map of the route. See further itinerary below:
17 Aug 09 – Depart from London on the Eurostar to Europe
- Europe itinerary to be decided
12th Sept 09 – fly from Ukrain to Russia – St. Petersburg
- 12-16th Sept – Saint Petersburg – Staying at the Engecon Hotel, 2 nights
- 16-19th Sept – Moscow – Staying at the Maxima Hotel, 2 nights
- 19-22th Sept – On train to Irkusk/Lake Bakai
- 22-24th Sept – Stay in Bolshoe Goloustnoe village
25th Sept 09 – Cross border into Mongolia
26th Sept 09 – Arrive Ulaanbaatar at 06:10 – Depart on Karakorum jeep trek
- First night at Elstei Ger Camp
- 27th – Departure to Karakorum (425km).
- 28th – After breakfast leave the camp and head to Karakorum
- 29th – Day trip to Ugii Lake and old Turkish Inscribed monument of the Turkic State
- 30th – Early morning departure from Karakorum to travel directly back to Ulanbaatar, staying at the Bayangol Hotel
01st Oct 09 – Transfer to station, depart train #24 at 08:05 towards Bejing
02nd Oct 09 – Arrive Beijing at 14:53, staying at Paragon Hotel, 3 nights
- Chinese itinerary to be decided
